I work in the Japanese Saori tradition, using plant and animal fibers in a range of natural textures.  I often combine rugged plant fibers with delicate silks to create unexpected contrasts and a distinctive, raw aesthetic.  Some pieces are further transformed through hand stitching, adding another layer of complexity and expression.

I also dye many of my own materials using natural dyes and sustainable processes that minimize waste.  Each piece develops its own character through the materials, colors, and textures, often materializing as I'm weaving, keeping the process forever spontaneous.
